Jesus and Mo discuss the tree stump Virgin Mary
Posted by admin in religious nuttery on July 28th, 2009
Oh, chaps. I love you and want your babies.
It’s almost like the barmaid reads the cockbucket.
There’s still a lot of incredulity and even outrage there. It looks like the powers are trying to hide behind the “it’s a constitutional requirement” defence, but chaps, your economic miracle might be in the shitter for now, but it’s really no excuse to make the entire country a laughing stock on the outer fringes of the civilised world.
The potential upfuck, which has been pointed out, is that if the padré warning people about not worshipping the virgin tree stump offends enough of the devout (-ly stupid) and they complain, he could get done for blasphemy.
Hilarity would most certainly ensue.
Anyhows, some more links for youe reading pleasure:
Blasphemy in Ireland – living up to the sterotype
Posted by admin in religious nuttery on July 25th, 2009
Oh, don’t you love ‘em, those quirky, chirpy little leprechauns and their strange bigoted ways?
Well, no actually. They’ve just passed in to law a bill that it’s now a crime in Ireland to produce or say anything “that is grossly abusive or insulting in relation to matters held sacred by any religion, thereby causing outrage among a substantial number of the adherents of that religion; and he or she intends, by the publication of the matter concerned, to cause such outrage.”
Mediawatchwatch goes further, explaining that “publicly making a claim about Jesus which is later proven to be untrue could land you in trouble”. Oh crap. So a bunch of fairy stories with no evidence are presumed to be true? How the fuck does that happen? Oh, wait. Alternative medicine. Never mind.
Update: Very nice commentary from Spiked.
It’s all OK though, we have the virgin Mary appearing in a tree stump. So that’s all right then. I just typed that as Vogon Mary. Oops. Am I now under threat of prosecution in Ireland?
Kinda puts abusive priests into perspective. Or is accusing pedophile priests itself now blasphemous? They are, after all, directly blessed descendents of Peter. Or something.
Luckily we have Spain. A devoutly catholic country, it has in recent years has legalised of gay marriage, introduced so-called “express divorce” laws and the dropped of plans to make religious classes part of the school curriculum. How cool is that?
Luckily, as always, we have Jesus and Mo to set us right. Never mind “God is great”, the Guinness is indeed great.
Dara O’Briain biles far better than I could

The awesomely funny Dara O’Briain has a pop at some of our favourite subjects here, nutritionists and homeopathy:
And that elusive old feller, God:
These cheered me up no end.
In the absence of cock
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on July 23rd, 2009
I’m finding it hard to get worked up about things recently. There’s a lot going on too. Off the top of my head I can think of:
- The Chinese shooting their own people in Xinjiang
- Ireland’s unutterably stupid new blasphemy law
- A fat white kid had his camera searched under the pretext of “terror laws”. Probable cause, what?
And I’m sure, much, much more.
I need something really bilious to get my teeth into. HALP! Send me your cock please!

Daily Mail in shock Simon Singh support!
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on July 1st, 2009
This must be some kind of accident. The Daily Maik, usually dividing things into those which give us or cure cancer appear to have allowed a well-written article slip through the net. to To wit:
My bullshit rader is pinging noisily. What’s the Fail’s agenda here? A nice bit of libertarian free speech? Singh is a foreign name but I suppose he’s one of those nice educated tax-paying ones. No, wait! Libel tourism!
As a result, an increasing number of foreigners have succeeded in using the English courts to launch defamation cases, even if they - or their claims - have little to do with this country.
Ah, furriners indeed. And oddly no comments. Weird. Also, check out the author’s other writings. A nice bunch of Sangatte and raping by foriegners. At least she seems to have slipped near sanity this time.
Björn rails against religion in schools
Posted by admin in religious nuttery on July 1st, 2009
The legendary Björn from the even more legendary Abba has written a piece in the Grauniad strongly arguing against religion in schools. Well, *duh*. Sadly in the UK, we’re going in the opposite direction due to the policies of our former religious nutter prime minister. I like to posit that indoctrinating children in religion, Abrahamic or otherwise, is nothing less than child abuse. We limit plenty of other stuff to when they’re 18, so why not belief in sky fairies?
The comments on this piece are pretty good too.
As a bonus, feel free to enjoy Marcus Brigstock’s Abrahamic faiths rant.
